About Pedigo's International Diamond CompanyHistory of our Jewelry Store
While attending college in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, I met Mr. Browning who owned a local jewelry store and was ready for retirement. My best friend, Randy Stuart, and I decided to purchase the store as partners. We had no money between us; so Mr. Browning financed the store for us in February of 1985. That was the beginning of Stuart-Pedigo Jewelers, Incorporated. In 1988, Randy decided to buy into a family business; so I bought his interest in our store. That same year I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Henderson State University. For the next twelve years, I searched high and low, for a second location to purchase. It was in September of 2000 that I located International Diamond Company in Irving, Texas. This store had been in existence in Irving since 1978. After researching the previous owner’s history, I decided to purchase the business. I spent about a year running International Diamond Company in Irving and commuting four hours each way once a week to my store in Arkansas. In July of 2001, I decided that the two stores were just too much and I closed Stuart-Pedigo Jewelers. I sold my building and fixtures to a long time employee so that I could put all of my efforts into my new Jewelry Store in Irving, Texas. Over the years, we have enjoyed building a relationship with all of the great people in the Dallas and Fort Worth Metroplex areas. In December of 2006, we moved to our new location at the corner of MacArthur Boulevard and State Highway 114. We are very pleased to be in a thriving shopping center that attracts a variety of clients, while maintaining convenience for our existing customer base. After twenty-eight years of marriage, three wonderful sons and one grandson, my wife, Adella, and I consider our move from Arkansas to Texas to be one of the best decisions we have ever made. Our sons have thrived in their schools and jobs and we are happily connected in a wonderful church. We are proud to be a part of the Dallas and Fort Worth community. International Diamond Company started long ago with a desire to run my own business. In 1982, I enrolled at Paris Junior College where I studied jewelry repair and design and graduated with a Certificate in Gemology and a Certificate in Jewelry Repair. After graduating, I opened a jewelry repair business in Camden, Arkansas. At that time, I also enrolled at Henderson State University and began work on a business degree. This was a very difficult time for me because I was not only working full time and commuting to school, but I was also married with a newborn baby boy.
